Beautiful Naples & Marco Island
Many people guess correctly when they think that the name Naples is Italian. The name Naples caught on when early promoters described the bay as “surpassing the bay in Naples, Italy”. The southwest Florida destination gradually became popular during the early 1900’s for fishing and hunting, and as a remote winter retreat for wealthy northerners.

Just about 45 minutes from Sanibel Island and/or from Naples, Fort Myers is an easy day trip for visitors to either one of those popular South Florida destinations. Fort Myers is known for its beaches, fishing, shopping, and the opportunity to learn about two of the nation’s most famed inventors and business leaders- Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.
Captiva & Sanibel Islands
Captiva and Sanibel Islands are two of the most beautiful destinations in the Southwest Florida area. They are only a short distance from one another, just across the bridge. My family lives in Florida and together we visited both as a day trip from Miami.
