Ô Chateau Wine Bar (1er)
Ô Chateau for me is like an old friend. It was here that I was first introduced to the Parisian wine bar experience, and from the very beginning, I felt a connection right away. I say it reminds me of an old friend because since then, every time I go to the City of Light, this is one of the places I make sure to stop by and pay a visit to say hello.
Conveniently located just a couple of blocks from the Louvre and Palais Royale, Ô Chateau welcomes wine enthusiasts from all over the world with over 40 selections by the glass. There’s also a complete food menu including appetizers, dinner and desserts. For those who are interested in learning about wine, Ô Chateau offers classes, tastings and even day trips to the Champagne region. What better way to learn about French wines than at a wine bar in France!
The contemporary interior design features a large marble curved bar, leather stools, chandelier, recessed lighting, and LOTS of seating. Downstairs is a spacious cellar where classes, corporate and private events are held. Wi-fi is available should you want to bring your iPad or laptop to update your Facebook status. And the staff is welcoming, very knowledgeable, and speak English.
Just a heads-up about getting to Ô Chateau….the street Jean-Jacques Rousseau is divided into two sections. The address is located in the section nearest to Rue Étienne Marcel. There’s usually a sign out by the front door letting you know you have reached your destination!
