Have you ever been invited to someone’s home and were asked to bring a bottle of wine and had no idea where to start? Or maybe you’re just learning about wine and wonder where do other enthusiasts and connoisseurs like to go? Here’s a top 12 list to use as a guide (12 inside and 12 outside the perimeter).
Exploring Wines of France at Vino Venue
Bill Reynolds, resident French Wine Scholar and sommelier of Vino Venue wine bar, welcomed the Friends of Alliance Française for an afternoon of French wine tasting…on tap! Using the enomatic, self-serve dispensing machines, we explored several of France’s most popular wine regions- Bourgogne (Burgundy), Bordeaux, Sancerre, and Côtes du Rhône (Rhone Valley).

After several hours spent holiday shopping at the bustling Lenox Square in Atlanta, having a glass of wine in a cozy wine bar was the perfect way to take a pause on this cool and rainy afternoon. Yebo, which I learned can be translated to mean, “Hey, how’s it going?” in Zulu, is located just across the street from Lenox Square at Phipps Plaza. What’s unique about this place is the wine list features wines from South Africa.
“La Vache dans les Vignes” Wine Bar (10e)
Nestled along the lovely Canal St Martin sits La Vache dans les Vignes, a neighborhood wine bar specializing in boutique style wine and cheese pairings. The two friends who own the shop, the “wine guy” and the “cheese guy”, welcome you into this friendly atmosphere to enjoy a glass of wine and cheese or charcuterie plates, all while watching the passers-by.

Are you or someone you know planning a trip to Dubrovnik? If so, and you are a wine lover (or not) be sure to stop by one of these wine bars, if anything for the stunning views. These were my favorites.
Cru Wine Bar at the Avalon
No pretentiousness. No “wine snobbism” with pinkies extended in the air. This wine bar is all about cool and casual. Located at the Avalon in the heart of Alpharetta, Cru presents a multitude of wines by the glass, wine flights as well as a food and wine pairing experience all in an elegant but hip atmosphere.

A warm and intimate living room situated in Dunwoody, Georgia, Wine Xplorer is a place where wine lovers meet together to explore wines from across the globe. Events range from complimentary tastings, to casual wine education classes, and even live music on certain nights of the week.
