“Les Fines Gueules” Wine Bar (1er)
Housed in an elegant space of a historic 17th century building near the renowned Palais Royale, Les Fines Gueules offers a cozy and relaxed setting to enjoy a glass of wine and if you so desire, some charcuterie (assortment of cured meats, pâté, bread, and cheese). The wine bar is also just down the street from Galeries Vivienne and Place des Victoires and makes for a perfect stop after hours spent strolling and window shopping.
The seasonal menu presents as accompaniment to the wine list, which although the list is nothing extraordinary, is still quite decent. You’ll find a nice variety of red and white blends from French wine regions, with most being available by the glass… that’s always a plus! The menu board also changes frequently and so it’s fun to go back and see what’s the latest they will be presenting.
What I am most fond of is the setting. Les Fines Gueules is on a relatively quiet street, and as mentioned earlier in an attractive historic building. I particularly love sitting next to the window people watching while sipping on an Alsatian Riesling for example.
I have to admit it is very small and so it is more suitable if you are solo or meeting with one or two friends- more than that would be challenging unless of course you reserve the upper level for a private party. On the other hand, during the warmer months, the terrace is arranged with several tables and chairs and is therefore able to accommodate more people comfortably. This would be the ideal time to go particularly if you want to enjoy the ambiance.
