Thank goodness for social media, because it was there that I first learned about this très chic wine bar created by the guys of Experimental Cocktail Group called Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels. Located in the exclusive Saint Germain des Prés neighborhood, Paris, the wine bar, which is really more of a beautiful wine lounge, is the place-to-be for meeting with friends while enjoying an amazing selection of wines by the glass.

Unlike the name suggests, Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels has nothing to do with “natural” or organic wines. But rather, it’s about the impression one has about wine- the history, lifespan, the fact that it reaches all cultures and places, the balance of nature, art, and sensuality, make the wine experience seem almost divine or… supernatural.

The tasteful decor which features a living room with a fireplace, cocktail tables, candlelight, stylish fabrics, and together with the backdrop of chillout music, creates the ambiance of being inside someone’s home. As for the wine list itself, guests will find a beautiful assortment of reds, whites, and sparkling wines from almost every major wine region in France. And in case you’re a bit hungry and want a bite to eat…no worries because charcuterie plates are available as accompaniment for your wine.

The place stays open until late so you can stop by for a before-dinner aperitif or come for a late night drink after a night out on the town.
