Discover Sauternes: Château de Fargues
I remember the very first time that I had Sauternes. It was at a Bordeaux tasting by Atlantic Wines, Inc. at the Alliance Française Atlanta. I was hooked to this luxurious sweeter side of Bordeaux instantly. So when I learned of this event presented by the Southeastern Sommelier Society featuring…
Vive la France at Vino Venue
Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire, Jura, and more. Another fun class presented by the Atlanta Wine School where we spent an evening tasting wine and foods from various French regions. The interactive discussion featured France’s wine culture and the important concept of “terroir”. French music playing in the background added the perfect touch to our evening à la Française!
In home Tasting Series: Côtes du Rhône
These in-home tasting events are one of my favorite ways to share and learn about wines. This time, we headed to the south of France in the Rhône Valley. Selections included Kermit Lynch, M. Chapoutier Belleruche, Châteauneuf du Pâpe, and with Cru regions represented such as Lirac, Gigondas, Crozes-Hermitage and more! The venue offered stunning views(…)
In home tasting event: Wines of Burgundy
Have you ever hosted or attended an in-home wine tasting? There’s something special about sharing great wines with friends in a small, intimate setting. I first met my friend Jeff at another incredible Burgundy tasting at Vino Venue just a few months back. He had mentioned that he enjoys inviting others for private tastings at his home. I said to let me know when he does another one, as I would love to attend sometime. So when I saw the Burgundy event listed, I thought not only would I love to participate, but what a great occasion would this be for our French group to learn about French wines.
Burgundy Wine Tasting at Vino Venue
Another enjoyable and yet educational evening at Vino Venue. For this special tasting event, the Queen of Burgundy, Madame Jean-Marie de Champs of Domaine et Saveurs, presents an exquisite collection of Burgundy wines. We started with a delicieux (sparkling) Crémant de Bourgogne, De Aureo Spirito from Montigny. From there Madame presented a Chablis…
Le Rubis Wine Bar (1er)
Situated in the heart of the 1st Arrondissement, just steps away from the Tuileries Garden and next door to Place Vendôme, Le Rubis Wine Bar is surprisingly an absolute neighborhood joint. Amidst all of the tourist-driven hustle and bustle in the area, Le Rubis still offers a taste of “authentic” Paris. The modest room is frequented mainly by locals who live or work nearby. Behind the counter are the madame and monsieur who seem to have been there a very long time, as everyone who walks through the door seems to know them…
Willi’s Wine Bar (1er)
For over 30 years, Willi’s Wine Bar in Paris’ 1st Arrondissement, has welcomed locals and visitors alike with a delightful selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle. The motto here….diversity, individuality, and natural beauty.
