More of Milano

Today was mostly spent in the city centre of Milano. One of the things I quickly noticed about the city is how culturally diverse it is. There are people from all over the globe here and a nice mix of age groups, ethnic backgrounds, and religions it seems like. I remember hearing before I left the US that Milan is a place not highly frequented by Americans. What?!! There are TONS of American visitors here! I’m asking myself, “where did they all come from?” lol! Maybe it’s because we’re in peak season for tourism or something. But almost every corner you turn…the metro, the rail station, piazzas, restaurants and shops, you’ll find Americans.

Another thing about Milan is its nightlife. Just like Madrid, people are out until every single night of the week! Happy hour is just a normal part of the day. Speaking of which, what I like about happy hour here is that there’s a full spread (buffet style) that comes with your drink. So for instance if you order a beer, spritz (Prosecco based cocktail), wine, etc. you can help yourself to the buffet which includes a variety of pastas, focaccia, vegetables, selection of meats, and fruit. And it’s good food- not that Golden Corral stuff! Not bad for the price of a drink which is usually less than 10€.

I wasn’t sure what to expect in Milan but I am so happy I came here. Would not mind coming back again.
