Toronto

First visit to Toronto and in just a matter of hours, I was asking myself why did it take me so long to come here? The people are friendly, the city is attractive and easy to get around, and with so many cultures and nationalities present, it is a true foodie’s paradise!

KENSINGTON MARKET

One of my first stops was Kensington Market, a colorful and vibrant neighborhood with  international foods galore!  Peruvian, Turkish, Belgian, Canadian, and even Tibetan and Afghan street foods…you name it, you’ll find it. Oh yea…plenty of vegan options too!

At the Japanese street food stall…the takoyaki (octopus balls) and Japanese soda were delicious!

Dirty Birds Chicken & Waffles serves some of the best of this dish I have ever tasted. So good and also located in the Kensington Market neighborhood.

GRAFFITI ALLEY was around the corner from my Queens Street Airbnb. The alley is well known for its street art and murals…

Hand rolled Cuban cigars at Correnti cigar shop. The place has been in business since 1906.

RIVERFRONT

One of my favorite things to do was spend time at Toronto’s outdoor spaces. The parks and riverfront are beautiful especially during the summer months where you can attend festivals, farmers markets, walk along the promenade or take delight in patio dining on one of the outdoor terraces.

At Boxcar Social where you have views of the river while enjoying wines of Ontario. The pour over coffee here is tasty too.

With its diverse neighborhoods, easy public transport, friendly locals and incredible food scene, for sure Toronto is a destination that I plan to return to sooner than later.
