Trendy Chic Wine Lounge in Emory Village

Chic. Neighborly. Convivial. Mellow. Eclectic. These are words that came to mind when I first entered the attractive wine bar and lounge located in the heart of Emory Village. The Purple Corkscrew, a unique wine experience created by two very friendly sisters, Stephanie and Kellie, presents a delightful collection of wines that are as eclectic as the setting itself. Atlanta wine lovers will find here selections coming from Europe, South America, the United States, and coming soon… from one of my favorite regions, South Africa.

While several conversation areas can be found throughout the former apartment home, one of the most highly sought after spaces is what I call the kitchen. It’s actually the main reception room that also includes cabinets, a tiled countertop, food prep and bar area, giving this space a familiar, homey feel. And where do people usually gather when visiting at a person’s home? The kitchen of course! But if you want more of a living room ambiance, guests can find that too in the beautifully decorated lounge adorned with work presented by local artists. There’s also outdoor seating on the patio to enjoy during the warmer months.

Besides the usual wine and cheese pairings offered at many wine bars, The Purple Corkscrew also invites its neighbors and visitors alike for book clubs, beer tastings, and various other themed events. Be sure to stop by on a Saturday for Mimosa brunches!
