Champagne & Chocolat Soirée at the Alliance Française

This is one of my favorite annual events at the Alliance Française. It’s a special occasion where you get to pull out that petite robe noire (little black dress), meet up with friends, and party the night away over Champagne and luxury chocolates.

This year the tasting event was taken to another level, where in addition to the fine chocolates offered by Maison Robert, the evening featured a “true” chocolate tasting where local chocolatiers, Cacao (with shops in Buckhead and Virginia Highland) and Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate maker (at Krog Street Market) set up tables and presented their finest bars, boxed chocolates and confections. Guests also enjoyed plenty of samplings from Valrhona French chocolates, macarons by Macaron Queen, and what seemed like endless hors d’oeuvres from Petite Auberge. The sparkling wine selections were provided by one of my favorite wine shops, Atlantic Wine Inc. and included a nice assortment of sparkling rosés, brut, vouvray, and blanc de blanc from France. All this while listening to live smooth jazz and trying fragrances of Blend Custom Parfum Studio made for an elegant Friday evening!
