Spa Day in Bordeaux

Just twenty-five minutes from Bordeaux’s city center, a unique and unforgetable spa experience awaits you. It’s called  Les Sources de Caudalie. It is a spa located at the vineyards of Château Smith Haut-Lafitte, in the famous Pessac-Léognan appellation. The atmosphere is rustic and is surrounded by beauty, luxury fragrances, and friendly staff. There are a number of services to choose from à-la-carte. But I went for the half-day ritual and savored every moment of this heavenly experience. Guests also have access to the amenities such as the pool, the hamman and thermal bath which is nice because you can basically stay as long as you want after your services are completed. After the spa, I went next door to the wine bar ROUGE just down the sidewalk. For food there is also ¨Restaurant La Grand’ Vigne¨ which is more of a formal dining option. But I like casual and the wine bar was perfect. I ordered the Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc which was amazing and some charcuterie. Total bliss!

Next…I headed over to Château Haut Bailly for a tour and tasting. I’ve always wanted to come here not only for their elegant wines, but also because this is one of the few Bordeaux estates with a woman as managing director.  Since they are located just minutes from the spa, I made an appointment to visit on the same day.

This was my first visit to the Pessac-Léognan region and I can’t wait to come back again hopefully sooner than later.
