Arrondissement 21

Did you know that Paris actually has 21 rather than 20 Arrondissements? Well, maybe not officially. But because the charming town of Honfleur is only a couple of hours away by car and is so frequented by Parisians for “les petites vacances” or weekend get aways, it has become known among locals as the 21st Arrondissement.

Thanks to France’s high-speed rail system, Honfleur can easily be done as a day trip from Paris. Starting off at Gare St. Lazare, the ride takes about 2 hours to Trouville-Deauville. From there, a short bus trip takes you to the beautiful port filled with lovely boutiques and cafés. So the next time you’re in the neighborhood, consider spending some time in one of the prettiest little villages in all of Europe!
